Minimum age
An applicant for licensure as a Delaware real estate salesperson must submit evidence, verified by oath, that they are at least 18 years of age.

Pre-licensing education
Exam applicants must submit a certificate showing completion of the 99-hour Delaware salesperson's pre-licensing course before applying, in addition to passing the general and Delaware law portions of the salesperson examination.

Sponsoring broker
Every applicant must submit a Statement of Broker of Record form signed by the Delaware-licensed employing broker of record for the office where the applicant will work, and that office must hold an active permit.

New salesperson postlicense education
Newly licensed salespersons, other than those licensed by reciprocity, must complete twelve hours of required new-salesperson course modules within ninety days of the date the license is issued, on top of ongoing continuing education.

Time limit
DELPROS lets an applicant save an incomplete application, but it must be submitted within six months of starting it or the entire online application must be restarted from scratch.

Exam registration
Applicants must pass the required Salesperson General and Delaware Law examinations through the Pearson VUE testing service before applying for a Delaware salesperson license.

Background check
An applicant may not have a criminal conviction record or pending charge substantially related to real estate practice, though the Real Estate Commission may waive this by majority vote if it finds no unreasonable public safety risk.

Reciprocity
An out-of-state salesperson may qualify by reciprocity through at least three continuous years of licensure elsewhere plus the Delaware state exam, by completing the Delaware law course plus the state exam, or by showing equivalent prelicensing education plus the state exam.
