Reciprocity
The commission may exempt a real estate licensee of another state from all or part of Mississippi's exam if that state's exam is equivalent and the other state extends the same exemption to Mississippi licensees.

Retake policy
An individual who fails the salesperson exam on two occasions becomes ineligible to sit for it again until three months have passed from the date of the second attempt.

Good moral character
A salesperson application must be accompanied by the recommendation of at least three citizens, unrelated to the applicant and known to the applicant for three years, certifying the applicant's good reputation for honesty and trustworthiness.

Application sequence
A salesperson candidate files the written application with photographs, undergoes the fingerprint-based state and FBI background check, and only after clearing both may sit for the written examination the commission administers at least four times a year.
