Minimum age
Every applicant for a real estate license, whether as broker or sales associate, must be at least eighteen years of age and must have attained a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Pre-licensing education
Sales associate applicants must complete the Kentucky 96-hour pre-license course from an approved private real estate school, or six academic credit hours in real estate courses from an accredited college or university.

Sponsoring broker
A license applicant must state the name of the person or company with which they will be associated in the real estate business, and a sales associate's license is granted by virtue of that association with a principal broker.
