Minimum age
Both resident and non-resident salesperson applicants must be 18 years or older, per the Nevada Real Estate Division's own application and licensing requirements table.

Pre-licensing education
An applicant for an original salesperson license must complete not less than 120 hours of instruction in the principles, practices, procedures, law and ethics of real estate, including at least 15 hours on contracts and 15 hours on agency.

Sponsoring broker
An applicant for a salesperson license must provide a verified statement from the broker with whom the applicant will be associated, expressing that broker's intent to associate the applicant and to be responsible for the applicant's activities as a licensee.

Background check
Applicants must submit one fingerprint card, either processed by a government or law enforcement agency within the last year or verified through an approved fingerprint vendor, with the license application.

Course content rule
The required 120-hour salesperson pre-licensing course must include disclosure-of-information instruction, at least 15 hours on preparing real estate contracts, and at least 15 hours specifically on agency.

Good moral character
The Division may approve a license only for an applicant with a good reputation for honesty, trustworthiness and integrity, proof of which must satisfy the Division, and who has made no false statement of material fact on the application.

Statutory basis
The Division may deny a license to a person convicted of, or who pleaded guilty or no contest to, forgery, embezzlement, larceny, fraud or a crime of moral turpitude, and may not license that person until at least 3 years after any fine, restitution or sentence is completed.

Exam registration
The Real Estate Division must hold the licensing examination at least once every two months and may accept successful completion of the uniform portion of a national real estate examination toward Nevada's own examination requirement.

Retake policy
An applicant denied a license for a reason other than failing the examination may not reapply without the Division's discretionary leave, but the statute treats exam failure itself as not subject to that reapplication restriction.

License activation
Upon satisfactorily passing the written examination and complying with every other provision and condition of the licensing chapter, the Division grants the license and the applicant may begin conducting business as a salesperson.

First renewal
An original salesperson license must be renewed before the expiration of its initial 12-consecutive-month license period, and every renewal after that follows a 24-consecutive-month license period.

Broker experience
To qualify for a broker license, an applicant must have been actively engaged as a full-time licensed real estate broker-salesperson or salesperson in Nevada, or in another state or the District of Columbia, for at least 2 of the 4 years immediately before the broker license is issued.

Reciprocity
An applicant who holds a salesperson, broker-salesperson or broker license in good standing from another state or the District of Columbia, whose licensure requirements are substantially equivalent to Nevada's, and who already passed that jurisdiction's exam, is not required to pass the uniform national portion of Nevada's exam.
